Some Find Bar Improvements

The LibreOffice Find Bar has gained “Match Case” and “Find All” buttons to match the functionality of it’s Firefox Equivalent:

LibreOffice Find Bar

The “Match Case” checkbox has made it into 4.1, I’m not sure whether the “Find All” will make it as it was created after the deadline for including new features in 4.1.

I’m also working on a slight bug affecting the up/down search in the find bar where the search “gets stuck” when changing search direction.

Thanks for your good work – much appreciated! 🙂

    I have some remarks though.

    1. Why it is in Writer “Find All” and “Match Case” while in Calc “Match Case” and “Find All” (looking left to right)

    2. Are there plans to implement “Match whole words only” like in Find and Replace?

    Thanks again.

You are welcome! Thanks for the testing and noticing that! 🙂 Looks like I messed up the ordering there, should be “Find All” then “Match Case” for every find bar, I’m fixing that at the moment (unfortunately the layout files for the Find Bar are duplicated for every part of LO that uses them — and that’s where that error managed to sneak in).

No plans at the moment for a “Match whole words only”, or at the very least I don’t have any personal plans to add this — although if you want that it might be worth adding a feature request ( https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ ), but I think it’s unlikely given that we probably don’t want to overload the find bar (The find bar is based mainly on the Firefox Find bar). But if there is enough interest it could easily be added!
